A POET AND A FLAME
Owner and Founder of A POET & A FLAME, Domineque Arias started writing poetry in her teens. At first, like many poets, poetry was an outlet, a way for Domineque to express her inner state and reflect on the world and people around her. She soon found herself writing poems for other people, for birthdays and special occasions, and even weddings. This passion for writing words that touched and uplifted others is what sparked the idea of A POET & A FLAME. She had experience with candle making as a young child and rediscovered it in her adulthood. Sensitive to fragrances herself, Domineque chose natural beeswax as her medium. The idea was a holistic gift that reaches one’s spirit. Her business partner and husband, Charlie assists her in the candle making process. Charlie is a singer, song writer himself. The two enjoy playing around with words to write new poems.
